Smart UX design: crafting better experiences for the future!
UX design is one of the hottest fields right now and will continue to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape of technology and human behavior over the years to come. No-one could have predicted the sudden change in people's lives in 2020. This change has had a significant impact in the world of tech which in turn had a great effect on design. UX will continue to transform and so it's important designers stay informed of
these changes.
AI UX design will be a new way of designing.
UX designers must learn to coexist with new and evolving AI tools. AI will drive the need for better UX approaches, helping designers make informed decisions based on data rather than a subjective opinion. Collaboration between AI and UX allows designers to work faster, streamline processes, interact and test products better. AI will revolutionize digital products, allowing UX designers to focus on high-level tasks like crafting the best user experience. Designers need to keep in mind that AI is not creative and so it is important that we leverage these tools to create design problems that are unique and impactful.
“Design tools are evolving to make us spend less time moving around boxes, and more time having the right conversations with the right folks.”
- The State of UX in 2023
Personalization and Customization will be a key focus in user centered designs.
There will be a higher need to design better human experiences that drive customer satisfaction and focus on human needs, empathy and in-depth user research. With a growing demand to create frictionless designs that take into account the motivations and factors that influence human interactions online. User Centered design will become the new norm in digital products. It's important to remember that User Experience design is the overall human feeling of a product and is focused on a user’s motives, goals, emotions and the end impression.
“People ignore design that ignores people”
- Frank Chimero, Designer
All Inclusive Markets will be at the forefront of UX design.
Good representation, equality, and accessibility will be more important than ever. Remote work has allowed creatives of all profiles with multidisciplinary backgrounds to collaborate and work together. Unique minds from different design cultures around the world will work on a new level of digital experiences, focused on diversity and inclusivity. Designers will need to learn and educate themselves about different mindsets. In the years to come a lot of unique minds and cultures are going to mix, this is going to have a big impact on the future of UX design.
“Designers must understand that there is no such thing as one size fits all.”
- Alexander Benz
Good UX design can not be done without considering diversity from start to finish and it's important that you truly understand all your user’s needs to ultimately create an experience that is solely focused around that user.
Of-course, there are a few other terms UX designers will need to know if they hope to have an impact in our ever evolving digital industry, such as: Mobile first, VUI, Web 2 & Web3, omnichannel, VR and AR.
In the end, the future of good UX design is looking brighter than ever.
As a UX designer we can contribute to this digital transformation by leveraging and utilizing AI technologies. Evolving AI tools will allow designers to focus on creativity, human elements and solving design problems that uniquely put the user at the center of a design. We will continue to collaborate with a number of diverse professionals around the world to ultimately create positive user experiences for mixed markets. Designers should keep up to date with the changing industry and be among those who want to create a better future for people.
